All-Star Squadron #1 — Short Synopsis

All-Star Squadron #1 (September 1981) opens with Hawkman flying from Washington to New York after midnight on December 7, 1941, only to find JSA Headquarters empty. Instead, he meets Plastic Man, who reveals that several Justice Society members have been kidnapped by a new wave of villains — Professor Zodiak, the Sky Pirate, Solomon Grundy, and Wotan  

The team is summoned by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to help retaliate against Axis forces after the Pearl Harbor attack. On the way to Washington, they encounter King Bee, a time-traveling man leading winged drones. Hawkman defeats the drones and King Bee, but the encounter leaves him unconscious 

Meanwhile, Shining Knight lands in Hawaii, where he meets Danette Reilly, a vulcanologist. She reports strange seismic activity and the sudden appearance of an island that didn’t exist days before. Knight investigates with her, but they are attacked by Zodiak and Grundy, leaving both incapacitated
